hey. In my own experience, I have used I small 20watt fender guitar amp as a small vocals unit. We only ever used this in a band practise. Once you play about with the base mid and treble you will be able to achieve the best sound it's capable of. I would recomend that you don't use a guitar amp like this incase you cause severe damage to it. You can pick up half decent p.a systems in your local newspaper or even adds for free for around 200-300 pound.( obiously second hand) to get a good system out of your local music shop I woud expect to pay 500-700 pound. Most venues that provide live music will have a house p.a but be sure to phone ahead just so your not left in the shit. Hope this is any good to you good luck with your music and gigs.
